Cricket is seen as a regional in India than anything else. Thanks to its popularity and its impacts on the people of this country it has become a great part of this nation. This relationship that India has with this game of cricket gave birth to the infamous Indian Premier League. This is one of the most exciting and the biggest T20 league anywhere know the world. It consists of 8 teams from different parts of the country fighting for almost 2 long months for the trophy. There have been teams that have been the most predominant in this game over the years and some that have had a wave of performance throughout the history of this tournament.

A team performing well or is not up to the level with the other team is solely due to the captaincy and the coach who runs the show from backstage. These two play a key role in propping up the team for the long tournament and making sure that the players are good to go. The Owners of all the 8 teams make sure they get the best they could for them as the head coach so as to make sure that the team is under good guidance. Since the inception of this tournament, there has been a lot of changes with the coaches for every team. There are instances where former players have become the coach thanks to their extraordinary talents. This year marks the 13th edition of the tournament and this will be last year before the franchise has to leave out all players from their teams and start from scratch for the years to come. With that in mind, every team wants to win the cup with a set team and that can only happen with proper guidance. To guide these 8 franchises here are the coaches for various teams this IPL 2020.

Delhi capitals – Ricky Pointing

Ricky Pointing the world renounced Australian captain who has now numerous matches for the Australian team has shown his magic over the Delhi Capitals. He was appointed as the head coach of the Delhi Capitals for the 2018 IPL. Since then the team has shown great composure and had made great progress in their gaming standards. Given his record as a coach the Delhi franchise wanted him to continue as the head coach for IPL 2020 as well.

Sourav Ganguly who was the team advisor has resigned since he becomes the president of the BCCI. Vijay Dahiya’s former Indian player became the teams, talent scout, for IPL 2020.

Kings XI Punjab – Anil Kumble

The Indian spin bowler who has the track record of taking 10 wickets in a single inning is the head coach for the Kings XI Punjab team. He is appointed as the head coach replacing Mike Heading who had guided this team over the past fee years. Anil Kumble has also worked as a coaching staff for Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indian in the past. So his experience as a coach will come in handy during his reign as a head coach.

Courtney Walsh has been named as the bowling coach, while Wasim Jaffer is roped in as the batting coach. For the field department, Jonty Rhodes has been appointed. All these experiences could make for something magical for the Punjab franchise this IPL.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Brandon McCullum

McCullum known for his power-hitting in the cricketing world has been named the head coach for the KKR for this year’s IPL. This is the first time McCullum is donning the role of a coach so the expectations of his franchise are really high. This 2-time IPL championship will look to win the cup again this year under the new coach.

Abishek Nayar will be the assistant coach with Mike Hussy as the mentor for the team. Kyle Miles has been given the role of bowling coach replacing Omkar Salvi.

Rajasthan Royals – Andrew McDonald

Andrew has been made the Nee head coach for the RR for IPL 2020. Until last year this role was done by Paddy Upton. Rajasthan known for identifying talents and enhancing them has now named Andrew as the head coach. Hope he does carry on with the teams legacy and bring Nee talents to the world stage like before.

Royal Challengers Bangalore – Gary Kristen

RCB went through a complete makeover for IPL 20202. Starting with Gary Kristen who is responsible for the 2011 world cup win for team India. RCB would love to change they’re lucked and win the title this year given the fact that they are the most formidable team on papers.

Adam Griffith is named as the bowling coach with Sridharan Sriram being appointed as the spin and bowling coach for the team.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – Trevor Bayliss

Trevor is a world cup winning coach and so he has some expectations to fulfill for team SRH. The intentions of the team is very visible seeing how much effort they put in to make sure that the team is fully equipped for the tournament. In addition to this Brad Haddin is named as the assistant coach for the side.

Mumbai Indians – Mahela Jayawardene

This Sri Lankan batsman is a fierce player on the field. He has been the head coach for the team since 2017. MI will retain him as the head coach as things have been good under him. They even won the title last IPL.

Chennai Super Kings – Stephen Fleming

With CSK nothing is temporary. Fleming player for CSK during the inaugural season and the team decided to have him as the coach ever since.  He is the longest raining head coach for any team in the history of IPL just like it’s the captain. With the results that this team management has produced over the years, there is no need for them to change the winning formula and that is what they have done.
