Indian defense parade for republic day 2020

The Republic Day 2020 portrayed India’s rich cultural diversity and military might in the Republic Day parade at Rajpath in New Delhi. The country celebrated its 71st Republic Day. The Prime Minister honoured and showered respect to martyrs at the National War Memorial instead of the Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate. Brazilian President Jair Messias Bolsonaro was the Chief Guest at the Republic Day 2020 celebrations. Thus, the capital city was under tight security and numerous Police for maintaining law and order and city traffic. Traffic was blocked due to the fantastic Republic Day parade. Not only this is a matter of pride for India but the day when the world comes to know the Military power of India. This is also the day for defence groups that safeguard the country from external disturbances.

Also, by 7.57 am, thirty-one police personnel have been awarded with Police medals for their services. Also, the mighty Indian Army celebrated the 71st Republic Day at LoC. The Government of India urged the citizens to remember always what our forefathers said. Not only Delhi, Chennai, Nagpur, Mumbai, and many other famous cities indulged in Republic Day celebrations 2020. The ITBP (Indo-Tibetian Border Police) was also celebrating this 71st Republic Day of India with the National flag. It was 8.36 am, for the first time, the Prime Minister Modi paid respect to martyrs at the National War Memorial. Though it was always the Amar Jawan Jyoti at the India Gate where this event takes place, this turned out to be a matter of hot topic currently. By, 8.50 am BJP, the ruling party in India hoists the Tricolor flag at its Delhi headquarters.

Missile Force

The Anti-Satellite (ASAT) missile from Mission Shakti and Air Defence Tactical Control Radar (ADTCR) was displayed during the 71st Republic Day celebrations at Rajpath. It was under the mentorship of DRDO that this project was developed and deployed. It was exactly 10.00 am when President Kovind and Chief Guest for this prestigious event, Brazilian President Bolsonar arrived at Rajpath. Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh along with his wife Gursharan Kaur, Chief Justice of India SA Bobde, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla were present for the 71st RepublicDay celebrations.

Indian Army

This year’s Republic Day parade was led by the Parade Commander, Lieutenant General Asit Mistry. The parade started by 10.10 am. The parade was covered by an army of soldiers who were vibrant and patriotic. The biggest battle tank of the Indian Army, T- 90 Bhishma, commanded by Captain Sunny Chahar of 86 Armoured Regiment, was portrayed to represent the country’s significance and strength.  Also, the mini-battle tank K-9 VAJRA-T commanded by Captain Abhinav Sahu of 269 Medium Regiment was present. It was next to airways, where Advanced Light Helicopters- Weapon System Integrated Rudra and 2 Advanced Light Helicopters, Dhruv of Army Aviation created a pleasant visual in diamond alignment. T

Sikh Light

The next mesmerizing one was the march-fast from the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment led by Major Anjum Gorka of 6th Battalion of the Sikh Light Infantry Regiment. Their vibrant and patriotic march created a nerve-stimulating vibe for everyone present over there. The next to follow them was the marching contingent of the Corps of Signals led by Captain Tanya Shergil, a fourth-generation Army Officer. She became the first woman to lead the Republic Day parade. The next to follow them was the display of Naval Brass band that was inspiring and energetic. It was followed by the Transportable Satellite Terminal Vehicle led by the Major Sheena Nayyar.

Indo-Tibetan Police

It was followed by an energetic march fast parade from Indo-Tibetan Border Police led by Assistant Commandant Amit Yadav marching down the pathway in Rajpath.  The Camel Contingent Division of Border Security Force led by Deputy Commandant Ghanshyam Singh with over 75 different dress items were necessary to ceremonially dress the camels and riders of the Force.

Chief Guest

The tableaux of different states nearly astonished everyone including the Chief Guest from Brazil.  Every state portrayed their rich and varied heritage through these tableaux. Telangana tableaux depict Bathukamma, a famous floral festival of the state and tableaux of Assam depicts bamboo and cane crafts famous from the state. Every state had its own tableaux to be depicted and admired almost every visitor.

Air Force

Next to follow was the Su-30 MKIs of Indian Air Force. It was executed in Trishul formation led by Wing Commander Nilesh Dixit and Wing Commander Karan Dogra. A single Su-30MKI jet flies at a speed of 900 km/hr and splits the sky with a dashing sound and color. The aircraft is being piloted by Wing Commander Yathartha Johri along with Flight Lieutenant S Mishra. Next to rock the show was the Heavy-lift helicopter Chinook and attack helicopter Apache that was introduced recently in the Indian army. These are highly advanced helicopters that give India an upper-hand against any opposition. It was around noon when PM Modi and the Brazilian Chief Guest took leave after the function got over.

India is celebrating its 71st Republic Day with grand celebrations in the national capital and all across the nation. It is celebrated to honour the historic date when the country became an independent republic after its constitution came into action.
